Aha Moment.

Today I got an e-mail from a girl that works for this campaign sponsored by Mutual of Omaha called "Aha Moments". She said that they have a bus that is traveling around the country, recording people talking about their life's aha moment. Their definition of an "aha moment" is "a moment of clarity... where you gain real wisdom - wisdom you can use to change your life." This girl said the bus will be coming to Kansas City this week and that she saw my blog and thought I may have something to say, and if so, she would schedule some camera time for me. (Who knows if that's true... maybe she searched all blogs based out of KC and sent everyone an e-mail... but oh well, I still felt a little special.)

I don't really think I've had an "aha moment" moment in my life... where everything has become clear and I've been defined. Well, I do have one, when I became a Christian, but I don't think a situation like that is where I would choose to profess my faith. Sit down with a camera, "Hi, my name is Abby and my life was changed the day I accepted Jesus Christ. The end." That's not how I would do things. I'd rather have a real relationship with someone... and if the situation came up where the person wanted to know what makes me me, then we would talk about it. Times have changed. I don't think it "works" to pass out tracts, or shout from a rooftop, or yell into a crowd or whatever. I think it starts with relationships.

Anyway, stepping off my soapbox, this thing that this campaign is doing... taking the time to travel around the country to hear about people's defining "aha moments", is pretty stinking cool. I fully support it, I just don't think I personally have anything to say... at least not yet. But you should check out the site: http://www.ahamoment.com/ or the blog: http://blog.ahamoment.com/. It's pretty cool!

just because we both love to disagree with eachother, the Bible does say to shout from the rooftops. But I totally get what you mean about it starting with relationships. But I also know that through Biblical example that many times it was done by God through His people without having relationships with the ones the Spirit was witnessing to. Such as the book of Acts where the Apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit. They began speaking in the tongues of angels. Then, they began to speak in the tongues of each many that was there that day. In a time were foreign language was not taught, this was amazing, and many people came to know the Lord.
Just putting my little Biblical head knowledge in lol. Love ya Abbs.. totally get what you're saying. You know we both always have to push eachother's thinking. =]

I just climbed on my rooftop and shouted "jesus loves you!" so does that mean my shouting from the rooftop quota is filled. :) Jk... I know there's truth to what you're saying. I just also know that so many people are so turned off by Christianity these days that I'm not sure that works as much any more.

Thanks for pushing me. :) I'm glad that we can do that to each other.

Abby I do believe your quota is now filled! lol. I would challenge you a bit just on your thinking. I agree that many are turned off by Christianity. I think a lot of that has to do with Christians not operating in the Spirit. If we were operating in the Spirit, signs, wonders, miracles, healings, etc would be normal and would be a witness to the Salvation of the Lord. Look up Hebrews 2:4 to show how the Lord testifies of His salvation.
All these things operate from a love of the Lord through complete and utter intimacy along with love for one another.
So yes, I just proved both our points. We need to be empowered by the Spirit, but we also need to be in relationship with one another.
